Slinging Hash

Thank you for your response. ✨

Is the title for this blog… but surely doesn’t fit the narrative of two restaurants down in Dallas, Texas; that both boast the image of a long horn atop of it’s establishment’s. Kitty corner to one another at the intersection of Insider and outsider, where the two steak houses fed the public for upwards of twenty years.

Each boasting the biggest steak for the buck, amidst a depression that is gonna reach biblical proportions. However, each offering daily specials, that most of the patrons took advantage of in times like this. While on one corner, the Bonanza specialized in the all day, lunch plate , special; featuring an all u can eat beef buffet. N, the Coontina, had a lunch plate special, that boasted not much at all… especially beef. Although, it was billed as the calorie counter of the two, which could be ascertained by the rather small stature of it;s clientell averaging around a buck and a half. Meanwhile it’s competetor;s clientell was double the stature of the coontina, but boasted lines around the corner. While the coontina stayed busy, but boasted no waiting ALL day long. However, what was obvious to any loong time patron of the coontina , is that it was nothing more than a cornbeef/hash house…that was big on the hash and small on the corned beef. N, irregardless of how the potatoes were prepared; augratin, french fried, mashed, boiled, in a salad, in a soup, or hashes … they were just potatoes. Which was obviously fine with the patrons, whom knew in advance that the spoon full of corned beef wasn’t gonna resemble no shepard’s pie being provided as the special… but as mentioned, no wait. While the average wait of the bonanza was upwards of an half hour for the all you can eat beef buffet, that never dissapointed for the same price. As some stated, that you were fed soo well that you could actually skip a day… and live off of you’re reserves. Which you didn’t dare try , with the meager meals being slung around on the plates at the coontina. Although, at the end of the day, I guess it’s all a matter of what the customers choose to do with their hard, earned dollars or sense… for that matter. Because, if you’re settling for potatoes, when you obviously have a choice… that’s what you’ll get. Everytime you exhibit the type of impatience, that plays into the hands of communism… as misrepresentation is a crime that will rarely be recognized as such… if you allow it.
